South Dakota remains the top harvesting state among the tri-state area with more than 1 million birds taken in 2021. The latest figures from North Dakota and Minnesota show both states harvesting less than 300,000 pheasants.

The pheasant seasons are right around the corner and here is a look at important dates, facts and historical harvests.

Remember no ice is 100% safe. Have a plan, carry safety equipment and let someone know where you are and when you expect to return. If possible, fish with a partner.
