Aaron Lefor of Roseau, Minn., shot this hen wild turkey Monday, Oct. 7 west of Middle River, Minn. As outlined on Page 59 of the DNR hunting regulations book, Minnesota law allows turkey hunters to take either a hen or a tom during the fall hunting season. “The hen was getting to roost for the evening as she passed by me,” Lefor writes.
