Outdoors events remain few and far between as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, but a few events are beginning to trickle in across the region. Events

  • Sept. 29: Virtual public input meeting for northwest Minnesota on updates to the state’s wolf plan, 6 to 8 p.m. Online open house will include informational presentations from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and allow real-time public input and Q&A. The open houses each will focus on a particular geographic area, and all are welcome to join the open house focusing on their area of the state or region of interest. The meeting for the central and southern regions, including the Twin Cities area, is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, and the meeting for northeast Minnesota is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8. Registration is required and will be available Monday, Sept. 21, on the wolf plan webpage . The open houses will be recorded and available on the DNR website for those who cannot attend.   • Oct. 7: Chronic wasting disease webinar series, “Biology Basics,” 6 to 7 p.m., hosted by the Minnesota Center for Prion Research and Outreach at the University of Minnesota. Session includes presentations and Q&A with representatives from the center, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy.   • Oct. 14: Chronic wasting disease webinar series, “Ecology and Diagnostics,” 6 to 7 p.m., hosted by the Minnesota Center for Prion Research and Outreach at the University of Minnesota. Session includes presentations and Q&A with representatives from the center, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy.   • Oct. 21: Chronic wasting disease webinar series, “The Human Factor,” 6 to 7 p.m., hosted by the Minnesota Center for Prion Research and Outreach at the University of Minnesota.
