Top four teams
Listed in alphabetical order
- Fertile-Beltrami -- No team can match the Falcons' experience, with nine starters returning on offense and seven on defense. The strength of the offense is at the skill positions -- Sam Macy (894 rushing yards, 293 receiving yards), Lucas Solie (702 rushing yards), Brant Lenz (1,008 passing yards) and Brad Schmalenberg (21 catches, 476 yards). Third-year starter Brandon Swanson anchors a veteran offensive line. Solie, Macy, Schmalenberg and Tate Mosher are playmakers back on defense.
- Lake of the Woods -- The Bears' program is solid, but the experience is limited. Only four starters return on offense and defense. Fullback Joe Kraft, guard Brock DeBilzan and 6-3, 285-pound center Austin Poppitz will lead the power-oriented offense, with Aaron O'Connell expected to be a big contributor either at running back or quarterback. That quartet also will lead the defense.

- Red Lake County -- The run-oriented offense returns its top playmaker in senior running back Garrett Schmitz, who rushed for 1,124 yards last season. Fullback Matt Schindler also returns, but they'll be running behind an interior offensive line that graduated every starter. The Rebels have some experience, with five starters back on both sides of the ball.
- Warren-Alvarado-Oslo -- The Ponies graduated heavily on the line, but are loaded in the backfield. Zach Riopelle (1,023 yards rushing), Andrew Lansing (417 rushing) and Sam Gibson (343 rushing) all were key figures in the backfield, and athletic JayVonn O'Quinn rushed for 236 yards and received some starting experience at quarterback. Breck Borowicz anchors the offensive line. The defense is led by linebackers Riopelle, Colton Laymon and Justin Haugtvedt.
