After 14 seasons in the major leagues, All-Star infielder Michael Young is retiring, according to a report.
The 37-year-old Young wants to spend more time with his family despite receiving three "good" offers from teams during the offseason, Fox Sports reported Thursday.
Young finished his long career with the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers last season, combining for eight home runs and 46 RBIs in 147 games with the two teams. A seven-time All-Star, Young spent his first 13 years in the big leagues with the Texas Rangers.
His career totals include a .300 batting average, 185 home runs and 2,375 hits. Young's 2,230 hits with the Rangers are the most in franchise history. He led the major leagues in hits in 2005 and 2001 and had the American League's top batting average in 2005 at .331.
Young won MVP honors in the 2006 All-Star Game and ended the 2008 All-Star Game with a 15th-inning, walkoff sacrifice fly.

The versatile Young, who played all four infield positions during his career, also made it to the World Series with the Rangers in 2010 and 2011.
