UND and North Dakota State have agreed on resuming the men's basketball series next year. A contract is expected to be signed and an announcement is expected to take place this week.
It will be a yearly home-and-home deal with the first game set for sometime in late November or early December this fall at the Bison Sports Arena.
NDSU coach Saul Phillips said he and UND coach Brian Jones talked Friday night and there appears to be no hurdles standing in the way.
"I think we're both committed to this long term," Phillips said Saturday. "I intend to play this series indefinitely."
The teams last played in 2004, but the series was discontinued the following year when the Bison began their Division I schedule.

NDSU has completed its five-year NCAA reclassification while UND will enter its fourth year this fall.
At least the first two years of the game will be nonconference. NDSU is in The Summit League and UND plays in the Great West Conference, although the Sioux have an eye on The Summit once their nickname issue is resolved.
If both end up in The Summit, then the league would handle the schedule and it would mean two games per season.
The two women's soccer teams will also play next year with a game scheduled at NDSU's Ellig Sports Complex. That is also expected to be announced this week.
Bison head coach Pete Cuadrado said he wasn't sure about future years, although the same scenario holds true in soccer as it does in basketball if the Sioux gain Summit admission.
Bison volleyball coach Erich Hinterstocker said he's had discussions with UND about resuming their series, but so far nothing has become official.
