Matt Cullen brings old teammates to Cully's Kids golf tournament

FARGO - Matt Cullen may no longer be on the Minnesota Wild, but that isn't stopping him from bringing some of his old teammates to the Cully's Kids golf tournament next week at Oxbow Country Club.

Cullen confirmed Friday that Wild forward Zach Parise and goalie Josh Harding would be at the golf tournament.

"That's off the top of my head," Cullen said. "There's others coming. We have a really good group coming, and it should be a lot of fun."

Parise led the Wild with 38 points in his first season in Minnesota. He is a former University of North Dakota standout.

Despite playing in only five regular-season games, Harding started all five first-round playoff games in net versus the Chicago Blackhawks after an injury to Niklas Backstrom during warm-ups of Game 1. Harding saw 135 shots and stopped 123 of them in the series, as the Wild fell in five games to the eventual Stanley Cup champions.

Harding won this year's Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, given to the player who best exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. Harding played this past season despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Cullen also confirmed Dave Christian, a Warroad, Minn., native best known for playing on the 1980 U.S. Olympic gold medal hockey team, and Minneapolis native and actor Eric Stolhanske, who starred in movies such as "Super Troopers" and "Beerfest," would be in attendance.
