Riders win
CARRINGTON, N.D. - Adam Van Raden’s 70 led Grand Forks Red River to the team title of the Valley City Invitational on Wednesday. The meet was held at the Carrington Crossroads Golf Club.
Red River finished with a 301, followed by West Fargo Sheyenne’s 305.
Red River’s Keaton Wolf shot a 74 to tie for fourth individually.

“It was good day to play and a nice golf course,” said Red River coach Merle Mikkelsen. “And it was nice to get a win again. We had good play from our team.”
Grand Forks Central finished fifth at 315.
Cole Hanson led the Knights with a 76.

Mayville State 3
HUTCHINSON, Kan. - Tabor scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to break a 3-3 tie and advance in the NAIA tournament Wednesday. Mayville State was eliminated from the Hutchinson Bracket of the NAIA tournament.
The Comets finished the season 31-30.

Mayville rallied from a 3-0 deficit by scoring two runs in the eighth inning and one in the ninth.
Jose Guzman’s double in the ninth plated Aaron Miller to give the Comets the tie.
Miller went 5-for-5 for Mayville, while Dondrei Hubbard and Dusty Dove each had two hits for the Comets, who stranded 13 base runners.

Fosston Invite
BEMIDJI - Thief River Falls won Wednesday’s Fosston Invitational, held at the Bemidji Town and Country Club.
The Prowlers finished with a 355, while Crookston was second at 360.

Crookston’s Maddie Nicholls was the medalist with an 80.
East Grand Forks Senior High, which finished fourth, was led by Nicole Schlenk’s 92.

Semipro football: Josh Jefferies is the Midwest Premier Football League defensive player of the week after making seven tackles and coming up with an interception in the Tri-City Northstars’ 20-18 win last week over the Midwest Outlaws. The Northstars will play the Outlaws again Saturday at Cushman Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
College baseball: Minnesota-Crookston’s Kenny Perez became the first player in school history to earn National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-Central Region honors. Perez was named All-Central Region Second Team for his performance on the 2016 season. Perez was named All-NSIC second team as a designated hitter earlier this season. The senior hit .355 on the season with 11 home runs and 48 RBI.
