UND 1, St. Cloud State 0 -- Westin Michaud (Matt Kiersted, Harrison Blaisdell) 17:46 (sh). Kiersted sends a clear all the way down the ice. UND forward Harrison Blaisdell and St. Cloud State defenseman Nick Perbix chase it, but tie each other up and the puck goes to Michaud in the right circle. The senior picks it up, skates it through Husky defenseman Spencer Meier on top of the crease, carries it to the far post and puts it home for UND's second shorthanded goal of the season. The first one was by Cole Smith at Denver.
UND 1, St. Cloud State 1 -- Jack Ahcan (Jack Poehling, Micah Miller) 12:54. St. Cloud State converts on a rush when Poehling takes a drop pass at the right point and hammers a low shot. UND goalie Peter Thome leaves the rebound on the top of the crease, where Ahcan cleans it up to tie the game.
St. Cloud State 2, UND 1 -- Jack Poehling (Nick Poehling, Micah Miller) 15:07. Huskies take their first lead of the game on a fortunate bounce. Jack carries the puck below the goal line and throws a centering pass to the top of the crease, where it hits the skate of UND defenseman Gabe Bast and goes in.
St. Cloud State 2, UND 2 -- Shane Pinto (Westin Michaud, Jordan Kawaguchi) 19:09 (pp). UND scores on its third power-play chance of the net. Kawaguchi gets the puck to Michaud along the goal line and Michaud makes a no-look backhand spin pass to Pinto, who cuts down the left circle and one-times it past Husky goalie David Hrenak.
UND 3, St. Cloud State 2 -- Jacob Bernard-Docker (Shane Pinto, Dixon Bowen) 4:06. UND scores a World Junior Championship goal with U.S. World Junior assistant coach Brett Larson on the opposite bench. Pinto has the puck on the left side and makes a perfect area pass to hit Bernard-Docker trailing the play. Bernard-Docker snipes it to give UND the lead.
UND 3, St. Cloud State 3 -- Jack Poehling (Easton Brodzinski, Nick Poehling) 7:07. St. Cloud State goalie David Hrenak comes out of his net to poke-check a puck and break up a UND breakaway and it ends up starting a rush the other way. Brodzinski takes a shot that misses high, but the rebound carries off the back wall and Jack bats it out of mid-air to tie the game. After the play, Judd Caulfield is called for a five-minute major for interference.
SCSU: Brodzinski goal
UND: Kawaguchi saved
UND left winger Gavin Hain is out of the lineup with a lower-body injury and did not make the trip, so he won't be playing this weekend. Harrison Blaisdell again takes his spot on that line with Mark Senden and Cole Smith. Zach Yon is back in the lineup for the first time since Jan. 4 against Alabama Huntsville. UND coach Brad Berry likes Yon on the Olympic-sized ice sheet. Berry used Yon in both games against Minnesota in Mariucci Arena earlier this season. Jonny Tychonick is the odd-man out on defense. St. Cloud State is scratching forward Zach Okabe.
