Game times set for NCHC Frozen Faceoff

Game times have been set for the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Frozen Faceoff at St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center.

UND will play St. Cloud State in the first semifinal at 4:08 p.m. Friday.

Minnesota Duluth will play Denver in the second semifinal at 7:38 p.m. Friday.

The third-place game is scheduled for 3:38 p.m. Saturday.

The championship game will be played at 7:38 p.m. Saturday.

The semifinals and championship will be broadcast by CBS Sports Network.

UND and Denver are the only teams to have reached the Frozen Faceoff in all five years of the NCHC.

UND reached St. Paul by sweeping Omaha in a best-of-three series. The Fighting Hawks won the series opener 4-0 and won Game 2 on an overtime goal by Nick Jones.

This is the first year the Frozen Faceoff has been played in the Xcel Energy Center, home of the Minnesota Wild. The previous four years were played in the Target Center in Minneapolis.

The league moved the tournament after the Big Ten vacated the Xcel Energy Center in favor of playing its tournament at home sites.
