HILLSBORO, N.D. -- School boards for Hillsboro and Central Valley will back a hockey co-op in northeast North Dakota.
The two school boards recently voted to join the MayPort Ice Dawgs, which pulls players from several cities, according to the Hillsboro Banner. The co-op still needs approval from the North Dakota High School Activities Association, but Association Executive Director Matt Fetsch previous said that shouldn’t be a problem.
The schools won’t be financially responsible for the co-op, according to the agreement. The co-op will play as an independent team for the 2017-18, but it’s possible it could eventually join the Eastern Dakota Conference.
