2018-19 season: The KnightRiders finished fifth at the EDC Championships and ninth at the state meet.

Key graduation losses: Jakob Craven, Reed Erickson.

Returning state open top-16 placer: Jr. Garrett Craven (all-state, second 500 freestyle, fifth 200 freestyle).

Other returning state open qualifiers: Sr. Nick Gasparini, jr. Harrison Stockeland, jr. Dan Musselman, jr. Cael Lorenz.

Potential new impact athletes: Soph. Levi Dallum, soph. Carson Ohnstad, fr. Elijah Reynolds, sr. Max Zola, 8th-grader Ryaan Alshami, 7th-grader Avery Berg, 7th-grader Logan Bjerke.

KnightRiders coach Newman says: “The upperclassmen (who are returning state qualifiers) are starting the season in pretty good shape and are already pushing themselves hard. Their leadership in the training pool is proving to be really valuable as we have a group of very young new athletes that should be a big part of our team success this season. … Our challenge to start the season is to get (the new, young swimmers) in some meets and see what they are capable of in competition.’’
