The Grand Forks Country Club will close its clubhouse for the next 48-72 hours while the facility is cleaned after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, course management announced Monday.
The employee last worked at the course Saturday but was wearing a mask, according to management.
"At this time, the clubhouse will be closed for the next 48-72 hours while the facility is cleaned and additional measures are put in place to protect our staff, members and guests," management said in an announcement on its Twitter account. "The pool will also be closed until we can reopen those amenities safely."
The golf course will remain open but the club won't be accepting cash payments, so golfers are asked to pay via membership account or by credit card.
"The health and safety of our staff, members and guests is incredibly important to us," the statement said, adding members should check emails for more relevant information.
The Country Club is working with the Grand Forks Public Health Department to determine other staff members who may have come in close contact with the employee.
GFCC management said that due to the nature of this employee's position, it's unlikely members and guests would have been exposed.
