Erica Eades broke loose with a hat trick Saturday, leading East Grand Forks Senior High to the home victory.

Eades, an eighth-grader, had only one goal entering the game for the 4-3 Green Wave.

But she had a natural hat trick with a pair of goals in the first period and a third on a power play to start the second. Eades also had an assist.

Riley Koberinski and Haley Mack also had goals for the Wave, who had a 37-14 advantage in shots on goal. Madi Galstad had 14 saves in the shutout win.

"Erica broke out in a big way,'' Senior High coach Jim Scanlan said. "She got to the net and created chaos. We got the puck down low on the first two goals and she buried it. It was our best overall game. We moved the puck well and our defense played a great game.''
