Four from area on Optimists all-star volleyball teams

  Four area athletes have been selected to play in the 2017 North Dakota High School Coaches Association/Optimists all-star volleyball series.
  Area selections are Grand Forks Red River libero Maddie Johnson, Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page hitter/setter Jana Mehus and Langdon Area teammates hitter Madi Hart and libero/defensive specialist Sydney Ellingson.
  The annual series matches outstanding seniors from the eastern part of North Dakota in the 2016 season against their western counterparts. Matches will be held June 12 at Fargo Shanley High School and June 13 at Bismarck Legacy High School.
East squad  Maddie Johnson, GF Red River; Sydney Ellingson and Madi Hart, Langdon Area; Jana Mehus, Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page; Kylie Kanwischer, Fargo Shanley; Alexis Bachmeier, Fargo North; McKenna Mikkelson and Kaitlyn Anderson, Fargo Davies; Casey Coste, West Fargo Sheyenne; Allie Mauch, Wyndmere-Lidgerwood; Mya Steinwehr and Paige Benson, Hankinson. Coaches: Curtis Johnson, Fargo Shanley, and Laure Good, LaMoure.
