BISMARCK-Former UND football coach and athletic director Roger Thomas will retire, the University of Mary announced Tuesday.
Thomas' retirement will be effective June 30.
Thomas, who has been Mary's athletic director since 2008, was UND's head football coach from 1986-98. He was then athletic director from 1999-2005.
Thomas, the winningest coach in UND football history, was 90-43-1. He guided UND to five NCAA Division II postseason appearances.
As UND athletic director, Thomas oversaw the opening of the Ralph Engelstad Arena, Betty Engelstad Sioux Center and Alerus Center.
