It's a new division for Grand Forks Central, but it's a familiar honor for Knights wide receiver Sam Strandell.

In the first season of the classification of North Dakota 11A, Strandell became a two-time all-state choice, while Grand Forks Red River's Paine Parks was selected as a first-team linebacker and Roughriders running back Garrin Sattler was picked for the second team.

The all-state team was released Wednesday by the North Dakota High School Coaches Association.

Parks and Strandell are both verbally committed as preferred walk-ons to UND.

Strandell, a 6-foot-3 senior, was limited to seven games due to injury but still managed to catch 28 balls for 370 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, the safety had 34 tackles and a team-high 11 pass breakups.
