The UND football program will embark on a new era in 2020, playing as a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference for the first time.

The Fighting Hawks' students will see this new era from a new angle.

UND announced Wednesday it would move the student section from midfield on the west side of the Alerus Center to closer to the end zone by where the team runs out of the locker room and through the inflatable helmet.

In turn, UND will make those now-vacated prime seating sections -- 213 and 214 -- available to North Dakota Champions Club members. The UND student section will now consist of sections 210 to 212.

“I am truly excited that our most loyal and avid fans are getting this great opportunity to fill the best seats in the house,” UND coach Bubba Schweigert said in a release. “Heading into the Missouri Valley Football Conference and reigniting old rivalries will create a great opportunity for an awesome atmosphere inside the Alerus Center for years to come.”
