Casey Mack, for years, has been a contender at River Cities Speedway.

To be a contender, however, you have to win at The Bullring.

And Mack did just that Friday night, winning the caution-plagued 25-lap feature in front on an estimated 2,000 fans.

It was Mack's first win of the season at RCS.

"It's been a long time since I've been here," said Mack in Victory Lane. "It feels awesome."

Mack took the lead from Nick Omdahl on Lap 4 and led the rest of the way, although he had to survive a handful of restarts.

"I really didn't want to see all of those yellow flags," said Mack. "Restarts are always tough. Sometimes, you don't know when to take off. And getting out of Turn 2 on restarts is always huge."

Mack posted the second-fastest lap of the night, a clocking of 11.864 seconds (91.032 mph). Nick Omdahl had the fastest lap at 11.753 (91.891 mph).

Austin Pierce finished second, despite running much of the feature without a front wing. Roughly halfway through the race, Pierce lost the wing. He started 13th on a restart and worked his way to the front of the field but he couldn't catch Mack in the final laps.

Jordan Adams finished third, followed by Omdahl and Jade Hastings.

"It's fun to win at other tracks but to win at River Cities is something special," said Mack. "The car worked well. We could hit the cushion just about everywhere."

Dustin Strand has been the dominant driver in the late model division this season. And he won again Friday night, staging a late charge to overtake Zach Naastad in the closing laps.

On Lap 17, Strand slipped past Naastad on the back straightaway. A few laps earlier, Naastad had a straightaway lead on Strand and the rest of the field.

Strand won by 1.395 seconds and posted the second-fastest lap time of 12.917 (83.611 mph). Naastad had the fastest lap at 12.561 (85.980), that coming on Lap 2.

Bill Mooney was third, followed by Mike Balcaen and Joey Pederson.

"Lapped traffic played a role in that one," said Strand. "Zach had the car to beat."

No driver is hottest these days than Lance Schill, who won the Midwest modified feature. He swept two modified features at RCS last week and did it again a night later at the Devils Lake Speedway.

Schill edged Rick Hamel by 0.754 seconds. Todd Johnson was third, followed by Eric Haugland and Austin Hunter.

Ryan Johnson, who started ninth, captured the streets feature win.

Steve Richards was second, followed by Dustin Ebensteiner, Nick Minske and Casey Vargason.
