ST. PAUL - Concordia-St. Paul soccer coach Steve Bellis has announced the signing of Coco Piche of East Grand Forks Senior High to a letter of intent.
Piche is a two-time all-state selection. She helped Senior High to a 62-11-4 record during her Green Wave soccer career.
“Coco is an excellent player who will add toughness, physicality and speed to our lineup when she arrives on campus,” said Bellis.

UND snapped a three-game losing streak in downing St. Cloud State on Friday at Choice Health and Fitness. It was UND’s third shutout of the season.
At No. 1 and No. 2 singles, Stephanie Petsis and Callie Ronkowski, respectively, won their matches without conceding a point. Lacey Sprinkel at No. 3 and Faith Lee at No. 4 won their respective matches 6-2, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-2. Mikaela Bennett won her match by scores of 6-1 and 6-1.
Playing in the No. 6 singles, Alyssa Carlson forced a third set in her match to win 4-6, 6-4, 10-5.
UND will play Sacramento State on Sunday.
BOSTON - UND senior Troy Huff has earned a spot on the Lou Henson All-America Team for the second consecutive season and is one of 30 finalists for the Lou Henson Award, given annually to the top Mid-Major player in Division I basketball.
Huff was one of only four repeat performers on the team, joining Oakland’s Travis Bader, BYU’s Tyler Haws and Indiana State’s Jake Odum with that distinction. The Milwaukee native averaged 19.2 ppg for the second consecutive season and became just the third player in UND history to reach the 2,000-point plateau.
Fellow All-Big Sky first team performer Kareem Jamar was the only other player from the Big Sky Conference named to the 30-man squad.
North Dakota State’s Taylor Braun also was named to the team.
The Lou Henson Award, which is named after the veteran coach who retired in 2005 after 41 spectacular seasons at the collegiate level, will be awarded on April 4 in Dallas, Texas at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Banquet at this year’s Final Four. Henson is the all-time winningnest coach at both Ilinois and New Mexico State.
St. Cloud 4, UND 3
Things started on the right foot for UND on Friday against St. Cloud State, as North Dakota took the doubles point, winning two of the three matches.
However, St. Cloud State battled back in the singles competition, winning four of six, to take the team dual.
With the dual tied 3-3, the No. 5 singles match between David Bergstrom and Soudiane Moudfir decided the day. Moudfir battled to a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Bergstrom to take the dual.
UND’s Ryan McGuigan and Dustin Britton won their singles match, as McGuigan at No. 2 won handily 6-0, 6-0, while Britton won at No. 4, 6-4, 6-4.
UND will meet Portland State today at 1 p.m. at Choice Health and Fitness.
