Jamestown, Dakota State picked first
MADISON, S.D. - The University of Jamestown and Dakota State each totaled 31 points and are the preseason coaches’ selections to win the 2014-15 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) men’s basketball title.
Valley City State picked up the final first-place vote with 22 points to finish third in the poll. Dickinson State, newcomer to the North Star this season, recorded 21 points to place fourth.
Mayville State earned 13 points to finish fifth, while Presentation recorded eight points to place sixth.

Women’s basketball
Women Jimmies picked first
MADISON, S.D. - The University of Jamestown garnered five first place votes in the preseason coaches’ poll and are picked to win the 2014-15 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) women’s Basketball title.
Mayville State, which finished as regular season co-champions last year alongside the Jimmies, picked up the other first place vote and are picked second with 29 points.
Valley City State tallied 21 points to finish third in the poll while Dickinson State finished in fourth with 19 points and Dakota State fifth with 15 points.
Presentation closed out the poll placing sixth with seven points.
