Texas-Pan American 3,
UND 1
EDINBURG, Texas - Sam Street pitched his fifth straight complete game in helping host Texas-Pan American to a win over North Dakota on Friday evening in the opener of a three-game Western Athletic Conference series. Street leads the NCAA in pitching wins this season (11).
UND (9-21, 8-8 WAC) got on the board first with a two-out rally in the top of the fourth inning. Sam Alt, making his eighth start of the season and first since April 19, doubled down the left-field line to plate Jeff Campbell and give North Dakota a 1-0 advantage.

UTPA (20-27, 10-9) had the answer in the bottom of that inning, however, with a two-out rally of its own.
The Broncs added an insurance run in the eighth with an unearned tally as a pair of UND errors helped UTPA grab a two-run advantage. Street finished his ninth game of the season with a one-two-three ninth inning and the Broncs sneaked ahead of North Dakota in the league standings.
Alt and Jacob Threlkeld each went 2-for-3 to lead North Dakota. Andrew Thome took the loss, throwing eight innings with two earned runs on eight hits and six strikeouts.

In the first game, Idaho State scored five runs in the first inning en route to an 11-1 win.
“In the first game we made a few errors and Idaho State got a lot of runs from them,” said UND coach Eric Oakley. “We told the team that if we don’t have those errors it’s a close game and that there’s no reason why we can’t compete in the second game, and we did.”
Bengals catcher Vicky Galasso went 3-for-3 with a pair of runs and 3 RBI in their win.
UND closes its home schedule when it hosts Idaho State at 1 p.m. today at Apollo Park.
