Houston Baptist 19, UND 4

HOUSTON -- Houston Baptist scored five runs in the first inning to coast past UND on Sunday in the final game of a four-game Great West Conference series. HBU won three of the four.

"We didn't play very well in any aspect of the game," said UND coach Jeff Dodson. "We have to play better on Sunday in Great West Conference play to give us a chance to win the league title."

HBU (3-1 GWC, 13-14-1 overall) scored five runs in the first off Jeff Campbell, who was making his first appearance since he suffered an injury March 9.

UND (1-3, 10-12-1) got a pair of runs in the seventh on a pinch-hit triple by Zack Trygstad, who drove in Riley Beck and Ryan Reese. Beck, Reese, Jacob Threlkeld and Daniel Lockhert each had two hits for UND.

UND will play at South Dakota State on Tuesday.

n Men's track: UND junior Jesse Fenstermacher won the 400 meters Saturday at the Dakota Duals in Vermillion, S.D. His time was 49.41 seconds. UND's Jimmy Evers was second in the 110 hurdles (15.19) while John LeClerc (15.26) was third. Jordan Fisk was third in the pole vault (15 feet, 7 inches).

n Women's track: UND's Lindsay Anderson won the 1,500 meters Saturday at the Dakota Duals. Her time was 4 minutes, 52.61 seconds. UND's Savana Weller won the 800 in 2:16.88. Jayd Eggert finished second in the javelin (134-10) and Kirsten Haas finished second in the 400 hurdles (1:03.75).
