EDINBURG, Texas -- Leadoff hitter Josh Lagein had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs to lead UND to its first Great West victory this season.
Sophomore Zac Salfer was strong on the mound for the Sioux, giving up just one run in 7Zc innings pitched.
"Zac was just outstanding tonight," UND coach Jeff Dodson said. "There is no other way to put it. For him to pitch that well and our defense to back him up and not make any errors for the second straight game was impressive."
UND broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run seventh. In addition to Lagein, catcher Jeff Bunch also had a big day at the plate. He went 3-for-5 and scored twice. Ridge Halenar also had two hits and two RBIs for the Sioux.
