ARGYLE, Minn. - East Grand Forks Sacred Heart trailed by six points with three minutes to play but rallied to take a road win over Stephen-Argyle on Tuesday night to remain undefeated on the season.

The Eagles improved to 18-0.

Michele Remer led the way for the Eagles with 32 points, while Anya Edwards added 18. Abby Smidt also hit double figures, finishing with 10 points.

“It was a pretty back-and-forth game,” said Sacred Heart coach Joann Remer. “The girls held their composure at the end and played really well.”

Sacred Heart improves to 18-0 on the season and will play Goodridge-Grygla on Thursday.

Fargo Shanley 55,
GF Central 43

A big second half lifted Fargo Shanley over Grand Forks Central on Tuesday.

Kaleb Christmann led the Shanley offense with 16 points, while Cameron Saville added 15. Aaron Knutson and Debyn Johnson led the Knights with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

“We got off to a pretty good start and played pretty well,” said Central coach Dan Carlson.

Central will play at West Fargo on Thursday.

Central wins pair of duals

FARGO - Grand Forks Central won a pair of duals against West Fargo Sheyenne and Fargo South at the Fargo South triangular on Tuesday.

The Knights defeated the Mustangs 75-6 and South 39-27. Carlos Balboa, Cameron Anderson, Gordon Isler, Dashley Foltz and Brady Terrill all nabbed a pair of pins.

“Our team wrestled its best match of the year against Fargo South,” said Central coach Jeff Welsh. “Every guy in the lineup stepped up and did what they needed to do. Cameron Anderson’s last-second takedown to win at 152 jump-started the team. Hector Hernandez fighting off his back and getting a pin at 285 in the last seconds of the second period was also pivotal."

Wrestling: Grand Forks Red River won a pair of duals at the Devils Lake triangular on Tuesday. Red River defeated Mayville-Portland-CG 52-9 and host Devils Lake 43-24. Jaden Haugen and Hunter Stauss led the Roughriders with two pins on the night.
