Dickinson 1, Fargo South 0: Stephen Laylock authored a perfect ending for the Dickinson High School baseball team.
The junior right-hander flirted with perfection Saturday in the championship. Pitching one day after he threw the first three innings of a semifinal win over Devils Lake, Laylock threw a no-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Fargo South Jack Brown Stadium.
He was perfect through 3Zc innings, allowed only two baserunners and kept the Bruins' batters at bay all night long. Only two balls made it out of the infield.
Laylock admitted he was a little sore Saturday morning.
"Adrenaline and ibuprofen really helped me out," Laylock said. "I was feeling no pain."
