Authorities allege that a Cando, N.D., woman embezzled more than $6,000 from her town's youth hockey club.
DeEtta Sadowsky, 39, appeared Tuesday in state District Court on three felony charges.
A criminal complaint says Sadowsky served as treasurer of the Cando Hockey Boosters Youth Education and Recreation Club and used the club's account to write checks to herself. The complaint alleges she took close to $6,400 from June 14 to July 26.
Reached by phone Tuesday at her home, Sadowsky said she has not yet spoken with an attorney and opted not to discuss the charges against her.
The hockey club, through a board member, also declined to comment.
