BISMARCK
Four grizzly bear cubs are calling North Dakota their new home -- at least for now.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that the three female cubs and one male cub were recently transported from the Montana Wildlife Center in Helena, Mont., to the Dakota Zoo in Bismarck after their mothers had to be killed.
Zoo Director Terry Lincoln says the zoo will keep two of the cubs -- a male and female -- and look for homes for the other two over the winter. The cubs are housed next to the zoo's two mature grizzlies
The cubs are from two different family groups and are about 10 to 11 months old. They each weigh 130 to 140 pounds. Full-grown grizzlies can weigh as much as 900 pounds.
