Crookston won its second straight game Wednesday night, downing Staples-Motley 14-0 on the strength of two touchdown runs in the second and third quarters.
The Pirates improved to 2-6 while Staples-Motley dropped to 0-8. Staple-Motley now has lost 37 straight games, dating back to the 2009 season.
Aaron Hollcraft scored on a 14-yard run in the second quarter while Brandt Delage added a 2-yard touchdown run for the Pirates points.
Hollcraft rushed for 142 yards on 16 carries while Mikey Hajostek finished with 73 yards on 14 attempts.

The Pirates’ Parker Salentine threw for 45 yards.
Crookston finished with 316 yards to 289 for Staples-Motley.
- Thief River Falls 42, Roseau 0: Nathanael Holecek rushed for 100 yards on 13 carries as Thief River Falls rolled to the road win.
Holecek scored three times on runs of 1, 1 and 4 yards. TyJuan Brown added a 14-yard scoring run. The Prowlers alos received touchdowns from Andrew Johnson (11 run) and Michael Johnson, who ended the scoring on a 35-yard interception return.
- Hawley 41, Warroad 14: Austin Koenig rushed for 111 yards on 16 carries to lead top-ranked Hawley to its win over Warroad. The Nuggets are ranked No. 1 in the Minnesota Class 2A poll. Jordan Harms added 103 yards and three touchdowns for Hawley.
Warroad received 65 yards from Tommy Villaphone on 16 carries.
- Red Lake County 54, Red Lake 6: Dylan Gustafson rushed for 98 yards while Brandon Lee added 58 in Red Lake County’s win.
Alex Erickson scored RLC’s first two touchdowns, the first on a 55-yard run and the second on a 53-yard punt return.
- Win-E-Mac 18, Norman County West 14: Zac Tradewell finished with 104 yards on 14 carries to lead the Patriots to the road win. Tradewell also rushed for a touchdown and threw for two scores. Matt Thompson added 58 yards for Win-E-Mac.
