Bemidji State senior wide receiver Andrew Schultz, who helped Grand Forks Central to a state championship in 2005, surpassed the 1,000 career receiving yards plateau when he brought in a 19-yard touchdowns catch in the Beavers' 51-12 homecoming victory over Upper Iowa on Saturday.

Schultz, who finished with 57 receiving yards, also scored on a 24-yard catch.

The Beavers were also able to celebrate a homecoming victory tradition of jumping into Lake Bemidji after the game for the 11th time since the tradition began in 1995.

Former UND running back Steven Battle led Bemidji State on the ground with 88 yards on 13 carries.

Mary 48, Minnesota-Crookston 0: The University of Mary returned three interceptions for touchdowns and returned a blocked punt for a scored in a rout of Minnesota-Crookston.

Arthur Pittman, DeShon Benton and Demetrius Allen all retuned interceptions for scores and Marice Burrough scored off a punt he blocked to propel the Marauders to their first win of the season. The homecoming victory also snapped a seven-game Mary losing streak that dated back to last year.

Keith McBride led the Golden Eagles offense with 40 rushing yards.

Minnesota-Duluth 56, MSU-Moorhead 7: Isaac Odim rushed for 169 yards and four touchdowns to lead Minnesota-Duluth past homestanding Minnesota State-Moorhead.

Missouri Valley

Northern Iowa 24, South Dakota State 14: Tirrell Rennie threw for a touchdown and ran in for two more to lift Northern Iowa to a win over South Dakota State in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The Panthers (2-2, 2-0 Missouri Valley) were best on the ground, rushing for 276 yards while Rennie and fellow quarterback Zach Davis completed 12 of just 19 passes for 114 yards.

Running back Carlos Anderson led the Panthers in rushing with 136 yards. Rennie ran for 121 yards.

Southern Illinois 38, Illinois State 17: Chris Dieker threw one touchdown and rushed for another to lead Southern Illinois past Illinois State in Normal, Ill.

Shariff Harris rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns for the Salukis (2-3, 1-1, Missouri Valley). Dieker finished with 78 yards passing and 91 yards rushing.

Great West

Northern Arizona 26, Southern Utah 23: Zach Bauman caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Michael Herrick with 3:07 remaining to lift Northern Arizona to a victory over Southern Utah in Cedar City, Utah.

Bauman also scored on a 3-yard run for the Lumberjacks (3-1), finishing with 109 yards rushing, while Herrick completed 23 of 35 passes for 244 yards.

UC Davis 14, San Jose State 13: Redshirt freshman Randy Wright threw for 223 yards and a touchdown and visiting UC Davis came from behind to knock off San Jose State.

Sean Creadick caught six passes for 88 yards as the Aggies (2-3) ended a five-game losing streak against the Spartans. Wright was 20-of-34 passing and did not throw an interception.

South Dakota Mines 58, Mayville State 10: Jamie Dale rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown, Nick Russell threw for a pair of scores as South Dakota Mines beat Mayville State at O'Harra Stadium.

The No. 23 Hardrockers (4-1 overall, 3-0 DAC) now have their best league start since becoming a member.

Comets quarterback Tanner Carpenter was 13-for-33 for 144 yards and a touchdown.

Dickinson State 26, Jamestown College 16: Dickinson State improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2003 with a win over Jamestown College at the Badlands Activities Center in Dickinson.
