First period

UND 1, Denver 0 -- Cole Smith (Jacob Bernard-Docker, Collin Adams) 12:59 (pp). UND converts its first power-play chance of the game with just six seconds left on the advantage. Adams has the puck at the right circle. He feeds it back to Bernard-Docker at the point, who hammers one to the top of the crease. Smith re-directs it.

UND 2, Denver 0 -- Josh Rieger (Judd Caulfield, Adam Scheel) 13:47. Rieger, a junior, scores his first-career goal on the next shift. Caulfield makes a tremendous feed from the left circle across to the right circle to Rieger in space. The defenseman, who was a late addition to the lineup, snapped one past Chrona's glove.

Second period

UND 3, Denver 0 -- Cole Smith 8:37 (sh). Smith picks the puck off of Denver forward Cole Guttman's stick in the neutral zone and takes it the other way on a breakaway. He makes a fake and slips the puck five-hole on Chrona for his second goal of the game.

Third period

UND 3, Denver 1 -- Emilio Pettersen (Slava Demin) 11:43. Seconds after UND kills off a second Denver five-minute major power play, including a five-on-three for a full two minutes, Demin finds Pettersen cutting to the net and connects.

UND 4, Denver 1 -- Westin Michaud 19:37 (en). Michaud ices it with an empty-netter from the defensive zone.
