First period

UND 1, Miami 0 -- Jacob Bernard-Docker (Jordan Kawaguchi, Matt Kiersted) 14:14 (pp). UND breaks an 0-for-16 slump on the power play with a five-on-three goal. Kawaguchi and Bernard-Docker play catch at the point until Bernard-Docker blasts a point shot just inside the post for his first of the year.

UND 2, Miami 0 -- Jasper Weatherby (Jordan Kawaguchi, Matt Kiersted) 15:33 (pp). UND converts the back half of the power play, too. Kawaguchi has the puck in the right circle and sends a pass to the slot, where Weatherby makes a tremendous re-direct into the corner of the net for his first goal of the season.

UND 3, Miami 0 -- Collin Adams (Jordan Kawaguchi, Andrew Peski) 16:16. Kawaguchi has the puck along the wall and makes a great pass to Adams in space. Adams walks it a few steps and snipes his second goal of the season. With that goal, Adams matches his goal total from last season.

Comments: UND outshoots Miami 15-6 in the first period and snaps a power-play drought with a pair of power-play goals. It marked the first time UND had two power-play goals in a game since Nov. 24, 2018 against Alaska Anchorage. UND played 31 games after that without multiple power-play goals in a game.

Second period

UND 4, Miami 0 -- Dixon Bowen (Matt Kiersted, Ethan Frisch) 2:07. Kiersted has the puck in the defensive zone and makes a perfect stretch pass to send Bowen on a breakaway. Bowen gets between the dots and quickly snaps a shot over Larkin's glove for his team-leading fourth goal of the season. It's the first collegiate point for Frisch.

UND 5, Miami 0 -- Jonny Tychonick (Harrison Blaisdell, Shane Pinto) 5:35. Tychonick, who tallied his first-career goal two weeks ago against Bemidji State, gets on the board again on a rush. Pinto gives the puck to Blaisdell on the left side. Blaisdell leaves it for Tychonick, the trailer, and he hammers his second-career goal in the net.

UND 6, Miami 0 -- Jonny Tychonick (Colton Poolman, Westin Michaud) 6:08. Tyhconick makes it two goals in 33 seconds when he gets the puck at the left point, toe-drags it to get a shooting lane and blasts it just inside the post.

Third period

UND 7, Miami 0 -- Westin Michaud (Jonny Tychonick, Harrison Blaisdell) 2:20. Michaud adds the extra point on a terrific individual effort. He makes a move in the neutral zone to get around Miami defenseman Derek Daschke and enter the offensive zone with space. He has Weatherby cutting to the net, but opts to take the shot and puts it perfectly in the corner of the net for his fourth goal of the season.

UND 7, Miami 1 -- Noah Jordan (Grant Frederic, Rourke Russell) 2:57. Scheel's shutout bid goes away when Frederic's point shot is deflected by Jordan in the slot. It is the second-career goal for Jordan.

Pregame comments

After missing just his third of 124 career games, UND senior defenseman and captain Colton Poolman is back in the lineup. Defenseman Gabe Bast remains out. It is the fourth consecutive game that Bast has missed since suffering an upper-body injury at Minnesota State-Mankato. Collin Adams and Shane Pinto remain at center.
