On March 12, 2016, Grand Forks native Luke Johnson, Devils Lake's Keaton Thompson and Hayden Shaw helped UND beat Colorado College 5-1.
Shaw scored a goal in that game. Johnson and Thompson each had assists.
It was the last time that trio played a game together in Ralph Engelstad Arena.
A month later, they were celebrating UND's 2016 NCAA national championship together in Tampa, Fla., before Johnson and Thompson launched their pro careers.
They'll all be back together again on Ralph Engelstad Arena's ice at 7 p.m. tonight, as professionals, as the Iowa Wild and Manitoba Moose -- the top minor-league affiliates of the Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets -- play an exhibition game.
Johnson and Thompson will be in the lineup for the Wild, coach Tim Army confirmed after Friday's morning skate. Shaw will be in the lineup for the Moose, coach Pascal Vincent said.
"In the starting lineup, just for you guys," Vincent said.
The Moose and Wild also will play at 2 p.m. Saturday, though it's not a guarantee that the trio will again be in the lineup again.
The game could be a key one for Thompson, who is currently on a professional tryout deal and looking for a contract for the season. It also should be a big game for Shaw, who is hoping to stick with the Moose rather than get sent down to their ECHL affiliate, the Jacksonville IceMen.
