BROOKINGS, S.D.—UND got off to a slow start, then found some momentum against South Dakota State on Saturday.

But the momentum didn't last long as the Jackrabbits continue to roll in the Summit League, posting an 81-58 win over UND at Frost Arena.

UND dropped to 5-7 in the Summit and 10-15 overall while South Dakota State improved 10-1 and 18-6 as the Jackrabbits are battling in-state rival South Dakota for the top spot in the league.

Lexi Klabo led UND with 15 points and eight rebounds but no other UND player managed to reach double figures.

South Dakota State, meanwhile, placed four players in double figures—led by Madison Guebert's 19 points.

The Jackrabbits bolted to a strong start—as Wahpeton's Tylee Irwin hit a 3-pointer 18 seconds into the game. The Jackrabbits led 13-0 before Klabo scored at the 4:48 mark of the first quarter.

The Hawks, however, did manage to make a small surge in the second quarter. Bailey Strand's 3-pointer with 4:53 remaining until halftime cut SDSU's lead to 30-22.

But SDSU's depth took over as the Jacks slowly pulled away. Midway through the third quarter, Macy Miller's basket in the paint put SDSU up 54-35 with 4:20 left.

UND shot 39 percent (21-for-53) and 4-of-19 on 3-point attempts. The Jacks were 50 percent overall from the field and 8-of-15 on 3-point attempts.

UND is off until next Saturday's home game against Oral Roberts.
