Former UND and NFL standout Dave Osborn will headline an event Wednesday night at UND's Gorecki Alumni Center.

The 75-year-old Osborn, who played in the offensive backfield for 11 years with the Minnesota Vikings, is expected to speak as part of North Dakota Farmers Union, which will be giving away scholarships for youth to attend summer camps.

Osborn was a standout for the UND in the 1960s and his No. 41 is the only retired number in program history.

Osborn played two seasons for UND and earned all-North Central Conference honors as a senior in 1964 as the squad finished with an 8-1 overall record and a share of the North Central Conference title.

He went on to play for the Vikings, earning a 1970 Pro Bowl selection. He also played one season with the Green Bay Packers.

The event is open to the public and is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
