Ackley wins two

WEST FARGO—Three Grand Forks athletes won individual titles at the East Region girls track and field meet on Friday.

Grand Forks Central's Karly Ackley won the mile with a time of 4:53.34, edging teammate Alexis Roehl (4:59.91). Ackley also won the 3,200 with a time of 10:49.26 seconds.

Roehl won the 800 meters in 2:20.47.

Grand Forks Red River's Shelby Frank won the discus with a throw of 145 feet, 10 inches.

Fargo Davies won the team title with 263 points, followed by Red River with 122.5. Central was fourth with 63 points.

Red River wins team title

WEST FARGO—Three Grand Forks Red River athletes won individual titles at the East Region boys track and field meet on Friday, lifting the Roughriders to the team title.

Grand Forks Red River's Seth Hanson won the javelin with a throw of 173 feet, 4 inches.

Red River's Tyler Enerson won the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.02 seconds.

Red River's Devon Pope won the triple jump with a leap of 45 feet, 3 inches.

Red River won the team title with 143.5 points, ahead of second-place Fargo South with 129.

Crookston 1

THIEF RIVER FALLS—Megan Boman went 3-for-4 with a home run and also picked up the pitching win in leading East Grand Forks Senior High to a win over Crookston on Friday.

Brittney Neil added a 3-for-3 showing for the Wave, who scored 14 runs in the fourth inning.

The Green Wave improved to 15-3. Senior High is the No. 1 seed in Minnesota Section 8AA North and will receive a bye to begin next week's section tournament.
