On Monday, UND freshman DeSean Allen-Eikens announced he was entering the NCAA Transfer Portal amid a coaching change with the Fighting Hawks.

On Friday, Allen-Eikens -- a former Williston High School star -- said he's returning to UND next season.

"I want to thank all the schools that reached out to me," Allen-Eikens said on Twitter. "After talking with coach (Paul) Sather more I've decided to remain at UND."

Sather, a former Northern State head coach, was announced at UND last week as the replacement for departing head coach Brian Jones.

Allen-Eikens picked UND in October of 2018 over more than 20 Division I offers.

A versatile 6-foot-6, Allen-Eikens joined UND's program in the second semester of the 2018-19 season. He's expected to challenge for playing time immediately as a freshman as soon as he recovers from an offseason leg injury.

After his sophomore prep season in Williston, Allen-Eikens transferred to Santa Monica High School in California. He was a two-time North Dakota Class A all-state first-team pick. As a sophomore, he averaged 21.9 points and 11.9 rebounds for the Coyotes.
