Essentia Health to host advance care planning classes
The upcoming classes will be held virtually on days in March, April and May.
FARGO, N.D. • Essentia Health will host virtual advance care planning classes on specific dates over the next three months.
Advance care planning is a process that helps individuals think and talk about their choices for health care in the future. It’s important for every adult to have an advance directive, also known as a living will or health care directive, according to Essentia, which announced the upcoming classes on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
“Everyone is invited to join in thought-provoking conversation to discover the value of ACP, reflect on your values, choose a health care agent, explore goals for treatment and take steps toward completing a health care directive for yourself,” according to Essentia.
“By having these conversations proactively, you can ensure that your preferences are understood if you become unable to make medical decisions for yourself due to an accident, injury or sudden illness.”
Classes are scheduled for the following dates and times: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3; 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13; and 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3.
