Apex hires senior water engineer

FARGO, N.D. • Murali Vegi joins Apex Engineering Group as a senior engineer in the Water Resources Group.

He has 15 years of engineering experience and is located in the Fargo office. Murali holds a master’s in both civil and environmental engineering. Most recently, he worked at EVS as a Water Resources Group Leader.

Houston Engineering hires technician

GRAND FORKS, N.D. • Adam Omlid joins Houston Engineering Inc.’s team in Grand Forks as a CAD Technician I. He will assist project managers with preparing civil engineering design plans and generating construction documents.

A native of Grand Forks, Omlid earned his associate's degree in architectural technology from Scottsdale Community College. He previously served as a senior drafting professional for Eickhof Columbaria Inc. in Crookston, Minn.

Krause appointed to KLJ Solutions Holding Co. Board of Directors

BISMARCK, N.D. • KLJ Engineering LLC says that Jennie Krause, the company’s director of project management, has been appointed an internal director for the KLJ Solutions Holding Co. Board of Directors.

Her appointment begins immediately, and she will serve a three-year term.

Krause brings extensive experience and recognition to the board of directors. Joining KLJ in 2006, she has served in multiple roles across the company, specifically spending time in surface transportation and oil and gas, and currently as the director of the project management office.

Krause is a professional engineer in North Dakota and Wyoming and has served on the Executive Committee for the North Dakota Association of County Engineers, as well as the three-year ACEC-ND leadership program, Emerging Leaders Institute.

She is a past recipient of the Prairie Business 40 Under 40 award, as well as a past participant in KLJ’s previous Leadership Development Program and Leadership Commission.

Krause earned a degree in civil engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

KLJ welcomes structural engineer

KLJ Engineering has welcomed Rachel Poitra to its West Fargo, N.D. office.

Poitra joins KLJ as a structural engineer. She graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo with bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and mathematics education.

She has more than 14 years of experience in structural design.

Engineer at KLJ earns Professional Engineering license

BISMARCK, N.D. • KLJ Engineering is proud to announce that Doug Barr, a senior structural engineer at the company, has earned his professional engineering license (PE) in Minnesota, Montana, and Wyoming.

Barr is based in Englewood, Colo. He has 25 years of structural engineering experience in civil infrastructure projects for state departments of transportation, municipalities, counties, railroads, and private sector clients.

Barr is a certified Professional Engineer in Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Arizona, Kansas, Washington, Minnesota, Montana, and Wyoming. He earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo.
