Flint Group's public relations manager becomes certified by PRSA in crisis communication
FARGO, N.D. • Flint Group’s public relations manager, Madison Hausauer, has earned a certificate in crisis communication from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
The certificate program equips leaders in the communication industry with skills and best practices to effectively build and maintain trust with key stakeholders.

Alternative HR names director of operations
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. • Karen DeLange has been named director of operations at Alternative HR, a Sioux Falls human resources management and consulting firm.
DeLange has been with the company for 10 years as a senior human resources consultant and leadership coach. She has been actively involved in the company’s leadership team, and an instrumental part of the expansion of the firm’s services and clientele.
DeLange is a 25-year veteran of human resources management, and has consulted with a variety of businesses, nonprofits and public entities throughout her career. She previously managed her own business, and has a deep understanding of strategic management and organizational needs.
DeLange is a Senior Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management, and a Senior Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute. She is a member and past board member of the Sioux Empire Society for Human Resource Management.
UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences names new associate director of human resources
GRAND FORKS, N.D. • Jill Sackenreuter has been named associate director of Human Resources for the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences.
Making her way north after more than two decades in Fargo, the former associate director of Recruitment and Administration at North Dakota State University is now the lead HR staffer at the SMHS.
Sackenreuter is filling a position that has been vacant since 2019.
A 2009 graduate of NDSU, Sackenreuter is a Society of Human Resource Management-certified “Professional in Human Resources.” She has been a member of the Fargo-Moorhead Human Resource Association since 2003 and the Fargo Rotary Club for nearly a decade.
Essentia Health welcomes health professionals
FARGO, N.D. • Nurse Practitioner Kayla Sorenson has joined the Essentia Health team in Fargo as a pediatric hospitalist. She will care for pediatric patients who are hospitalized due to illness or injury.
She said she chose Essentia Health because of its family and patient-oriented core values. Sorenson earned her RN to BSN degree at North Dakota State University in Fargo, and remained there for her nurse practitioner doctorate as well. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Also, Dr. Mark Rostad has joined Essentia Health's Fargo team as a hospitalist.
As part of the hospitalist team, Dr. Rostad will care for patients who are hospitalized due to illness or injury.
A native of North Dakota, Rostad received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks, N.D. He is certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
In addition to his work as a hospitalist, Dr. Rostad will be working to establish a palliative care inpatient service at Essentia Health-Fargo.
Palliative care involves assisting patients in their decision making regarding the medical treatment, generally referred to as goals of care, and helping to ease the suffering of both the seriously ill and the actively dying.
Architecture Incorporated hires two BIM technicians
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. • Architecture Incorporated of Sioux Falls and Rapid City, S.D., recently hired Zach Geier and Chloe Renfro as BIM technicians.
Geier, who will be working in the company’s Sioux Falls office, received his A.A.S. in Architectural Engineering Technology from Southeast Technical College.
Renfro, who will be working in the Rapid City office, received her A.A.S. in Architectural Drafting from Western Dakota Tech.
They both have a solid foundation working with the latest drafting technology and have already become an asset to the Architecture Incorporated team. The company said it is looking forward to helping them grow and fulfill their career aspirations.
