Houston Engineering welcomes communications assistant

FARGO, N.D. • Melissa Van Der Stad joins the team at Houston Engineering Inc. as a communications assistant. She will be responsible for developing proposals, project reports, and presentations as well as assisting with various other marketing and communications tasks to support staff across the firm.

Originally from Park Rapids, Minn., she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in Hispanic studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth. In her previous position, she developed proposals and managed grants for a Fargo non-profit organization. In addition, she has written several articles and press releases.

ICON Architectural Group hires new interior designer

WEST FARGO, N.D. • Sarah Hoekstra has joined the team at ICON Architectural Group as an Interior Designer at the firm’s West Fargo office. Hoekstra brings more than two years of experience in the field and is currently working towards her National Council for Interior Design Qualification license.

Rriginally from Bismarck, N.D., she graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with minors in Business Administration and Visual Arts. She has worked in the Midwest the past two years and completed her internship in Ireland.

Interstate Engineering promotes member to offce manager

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. • Engineering consulting firm Interstate Engineering, has promoted Mike Foertsch promotion to the role of office manager of the its office in Fergus Falls, Minn.

He is a seasoned civil engineer and land surveyor with vast experience in western Minnesota and eastern North Dakota.

Engineer Ross Eberle will focus his talents on transportation engineering throughout western Minnesota. Eberle joined Interstate Engineering in 2018, continuing to build and strengthen the Fergus Falls team while serving as an engineer for various projects in the area.
