The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) has released the Marketing Assistance Loan rates for 2021.
The loans provide interim financing to producers so that commodities can be stored after harvest when market prices are typically low, according to the department, and sold later when market conditions may be more favorable.
The 2018 Farm Bill extended the Marketing Assistance Loan program, making production for the 2019 through 2023 crops eligible for loan benefits.
In a broader effort to help farmers, ranchers and producers who have been impacted by market disruptions because of COVID-19, the Farm Service Agency has increased flexibilities for producers with the loans.
