Top gray wolf researcher Adrian Treves of the University of Wisconsin joins podcast host Mike McFeely to talk about an unusual, unexpected hunt in that state that devastated the wolf population.

Some 216 wolves were killed by a variety of means -- both ethical and unethical -- and perhaps another 100 were poached after a court ruled the state could hold a wolf hunt once the predator was removed from federal endangered species list by the Trump administration.

What does it mean for the wolf population in Wisconsin, and what can be done to keep this from happening again?

Bismarck, N.D., humanities scholar Clay Jenkinson joins podcast host Mike McFeely to chat about Republicans' obsession with silly topics like Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head being "cancelled" by the left (they haven't, even if it mattered).

As usual Clay is more forgiving than Mike, who believes the right wasting time on inanity like "cancel culture" is purposeful distraction from the fact Republicans don't have any policy points and the ones they do are unpopular.

Humanities scholar and author Clay Jenkinson joins podcast host Mike McFeely and Clay tells a story about an Uber ride he received in Tacoma, Wash., and what that means in the bigger picture.

Fresno State coach has (sort of) fond memories of Fargodome

Former Fargo radio host Christopher Gabriel sent along this brief clip from his current show on 940 ESPN in Fresno in which Fresno State running backs coach Lee Marks recalls coaching in the Fargodome while he was an assistant with South Dakota State in 2012. 

It's pretty standard fare -- and opposing coach saying the dome has a great atmosphere -- but Christopher thought Bison fans would enjoy it so he passed it along.

Marks was with SDSU only one season, but he's been around and coached games in a lot of places. What he says about the dome is very complimentary.

North Dakota State play-by-play broadcaster Scott Miller died five years ago, Feb. 25, 2016, after a long battle with cancer.

He also called games for the minor-league baseball team the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
