Headline Story: WAHPETON -- Two years ago, the Wahpeton Huskies didn't win a single football game, going 0-9.
"Our program was completely on fire," said third-year head coach Wade Gilbertson.
At the time, then-freshmen and sophomores were tasked with salvaging a program.
"We have a number of seniors and juniors on the team now that helped me and the other coaches carry the water to put out that fire," said Gilbertson.
In 2020, the team won its first football game in 15 tries, defeating Valley City in four overtimes. It would be the Huskies lone win of the season. The team stuck together.
