Days before an 'Unsolved Mysteries' episode aired on the disappearance of Joshua Guimond, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office released 28 images discovered on his computer. Lt. Zach Sorenson said the decision to hold on to those photos until days before the episode aired was a 'strategic investigative decision.'
William Henrichs, 66, of St. Cloud, was rescued from Rice Lake by another man with a pontoon after Henrichs' boat capsized Monday afternoon on Rice Lake. According to the release, "he was cold but otherwise uninjured."
A caller — later found to have a gunshot wound to his nose — reported that another driver had shot at him while driving westbound on Interstate 94 after the two had a dispute on the roadway. Stearns County deputies were able to locate the alleged shooter, identified as a 23-year-old from Inkster, Michigan.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced Monday that Lake Koronis has a confirmed report of zebra mussels. A fishing guide snagged a zebra mussel on Lake Koronis on July 8. The lake became the first in Minnesota infested by starry stonewort when it was discovered in its waters in 2015.
Items found in a park along the Mississippi River in Stearns County led to a three-day search for missing 6-year-old Elle Ragin, of Northfield. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office is asking residents along the Mississippi River to keep an eye and report any items that may be related to the search.
