RED LAKE — A Red Lake man was sentenced on Wednesday to 60 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release, for selling fentanyl on the Red Lake Nation, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
A Ponemah man was sentenced on Monday, April 4, to 144 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for the murder of a woman on the Red Lake Nation.

These cases are the result of investigations conducted by the Red Lake Department of Public Safety, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the FBI Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force and the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force.
Interment for Ryan Bialke, 37, of Bemidji, Minnesota, will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji, according to his obituary. A wake will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1.
According to the National Weather Service report, a supercell thunderstorm formed in northwest Beltrami County around 4:30 p.m. July 26 and intensified as it tracked southeastward across Lower Red Lake and Red Lake Nation. It then split into two storm cells as it neared the southern edge of the lake and formed one or more tornadoes over the lake, which then tracked onshore.
