It’s not the first time DEDCO has stepped in to try to save a local necessity in Drayton. In 2012, DEDCO completed a similar project to draw a restaurant back to the town.
According to recent business surveys completed by the Red River Regional Council, the region will need upwards of 1,000 new employees in manufacturing, healthcare, education and small businesses over the next five years. The goal of the new initiative is to address this need by creating a marketing strategy to promote rural northeastern North Dakota as a quality place to live, work and play.

The suspect, a minor, has been charged with terrorizing, a Class C felony carrying a maximum penalty of five years in jail and a $10,000 fine.
The Pembina County Sheriff's Office said there was no immediate danger, but the investigation is ongoing.
Neil Kiemele, 18, had been missing since 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, according to the Pembina County Sheriff's Office.
