In July 2021, Pendleton was found guilty of two charges of murder in the deaths of his mother, Lola Moore, and Grand Forks Police Officer Cody Holte.
The notice of appeal was filed after Pendleton was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the death of Grand Forks Police Officer Cody Holte on Oct. 8. Pendleton was also sentenced to 25 years in prison for the death of his mother, Lola Moore. He also was sentenced for several other charges.

Three-dozen law enforcement officers, along with a dozen members of Cody Holte's family are in Washington, D.C. for National Police Week.
Pendleton was sentenced to life without parole for the murder of Grand Forks Officer Cody Holte and to 25 years for the death of Pendleton's mother, Lola Moore.
43-year-old Salamah Pendleton will be sentenced Friday, Oct. 8.
