Q . What holiday is coming up the third Monday in February in Canada?
A. Louis Riel Day. It’s observed throughout Manitoba. Let’s hope the roads are good!
Q . What signs of spring are you noticing this week?
A. There was an ad in the Herald for baseball coaches this summer for the American Legion program at Devils Lake. And some people are coming home from faraway places and complaining of jetlag. Still others start dreaming of summer at the lake and their eyes gloss over.
Q . How long has Rex Morgan’s wife June in the comics been pregnant?
A. It seems longer than nine months to me.
Q . What are cardboard races?
A. They are races that prove you can slip down the side of the dike along Grand Forks’ Lincoln Drive Park on almost anything. There will be cardboard races along with ski clinics, ice skating, sledding and sleigh rides Sunday at the park.
There is cardboard available at the Ski and Bike Shop and there’s duct tape for making sleds as well as skis available for events beginning at 10:00 a.m.
