Letter: No concern with Pitlyk confirmation?
Last Wednesday, on a party line vote, Sens. John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer both voted with all of their GOP colleagues (except Susan Collins) to confirm Sarah Pitlyk to the federal judiciary.
She will now serve as a trial judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
While I understand that the senators' fealty to the new cult-of-Trump GOP might have compelled them to support one of the most extreme opponents of reproductive rights to ever come before the Senate, surely they must be concerned that she was rated "Not Qualified" by the American Bar Association?
She will now serve as a trial judge even though she has never tried a case. Doesn't that bother GOP senators at all?
By the way, I did not use the term “cult” flippantly. I did so after doing a web search using the term “characteristics of cult leaders.”
Readers might like to try that, and then decide for themselves if the characteristics and traits that emerge look familiar in today’s political climate. Be warned: the results might frighten you!
